Briefing. The task was to create a fully motorized x-ray mobile based on the beautiful design concept from L. Herczegh, together with the technical team and the supplier. The main challenge during the implementation phase is always to secure the original design intent. Technical constraints, budget resources, production technologies, deadlines and the capabilities of the technical team are the issues that constantly require creative solutions. In this phase the designer has to be the moderator, the user’s and patient’s advocate, the technical expert and the motivator to convince the team to go the extra mile. Together on this project we achieved an extraordinary result, which was rewarded with multiple design awards. One juror remarked: “There is a symphony of form here. There is nothing gratuitous about it. And there is a tremendous amount of logic. I see real problems in ergonomics being solved”
